The Lincoln Theatre, a 500-seat theatre in Marion, re-opened in May 2004 following a $1.8 million renovation. One of only three surviving Mayan-Revival style theatres in the U.S., the historic murals and exotic representations of mythological creatures adorning the ceilings and walls are reason enough to visit this fully restored 1929 architectural wonder. The theatre boasts a rich array of programming all year, and serves as host venue for Song of the Mountains, a bluegrass and old-time concert series videotaped by Blue Ridge PBS for national distribution on PBS stations.
